Socorro Millan Rodriguez, 83, of Pecos, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at the Pecos Nursing Home. She was born May 1, 1918, in Womack, Tx., was a longtime C.R. She was born Sept. 5, 1921 in Gloster, MS. Daughters Frances Orona of Peoria, Ariz., Melinda Minjarez of Odessa, grandchildren, Lisa Ruiz and husband Armando, great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Sierra Ruiz of Carlsbad, N.M., and grandson Joshua Orona of Odessa. Mr. Lewis was a life-long and well-respected cattleman, having managed cattleyards in Reeves and Tom Green counties. Burial will be in Los Angeles Garden Cemetery. Martinez-Smith and Miller Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Monahans was in charge of arrangements. During the Vietnam War, he served his country in the U.S. Army, was employed by the Runnels County Sheriffs Department for the past 23 yeas as a Deputy Sheriff and served as Fire Marshal for the City of Ballinger and Runnels County.
